Thank you for your interest in the Student GPS experience. Our goal is to assist you in finding a host family to live with while you attend UC Davis that meets your needs, and to do so in a way that is as easy and convenient for you as possible. (Refer to outlined steps below)
WHAT YOU GET WITH OUR HOMESTAY
You get a furnished room with a bed, desk, chair, closet space, and dresser; an internet connection; a cell phone to use; and “up to three” meals per day. Our Host Families are located in Davis, Woodland and surrounding cities. Student GPS does not guarantee a specific placement location when a student selects Homestay through our Homestay Program option.
Our fees are $300 for placement up to 10 weeks and $200 for up to 4 weeks. Airport pick-up is $35 from Sacramento Airport and $120 from San Francisco Airport (includes 2 bags per person, $5 each for more, over-sized luggage may be more). Bicycle rentals are $100 for 10 weeks, $130 for 6 months, and $150 for 12 months. There is a continuation fee of $80 for each succeeding quarter, and, if needed, $350 for relocation. There is a nightly rate of $27 paid directly to your host family.

To be placed with one of our quality host families, with no placement fee, follow the steps below.
- Complete our online application as soon as possible.
- Fax the first and last pages of the Student Placement Agreement–SIGN the last page.
- You must be enrolled in a 10-week summer program (0r Summer sessions 1 and 2).
- Clearly state your arrival date and departure date.
- Read and sign our placement waiver form. This will be sent directly to you after successful completion of your application and Student Placement Agreement.
All other fees, charges, and financial obligations associated with the Homestay remain in effect. The nightly rate for Homestay is $27/night for up to three meals per day and a private, furnished room. Bicycle rentals are available as well as shuttle service from the airport to your host family.

HOMESTAY PACKAGES
Packages include Placement Fee, Airport pick-up, and a Bicycle. The Up to 10-Week Package is only $395 for a Sacramento arrival, and $460 for a San Francisco arrival. The Up to 4-Week Package is only $285 for a Sacramento arrival, and $350 for a San Francisco arrival. (Go to Sept 4: Payment Options and Fees)
On the right is a list of the steps that identify the specific information you will need. We encourage you to review all our material before starting the application process. There are numerous questions on the Student Application. Please answer each as thoroughly and honestly as possible. Your answers will help us identify the most suitable placement available. Other factors that influencing the placement process include geographical location, pet-free homes, smoking, and special needs. Because of these variables, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
We understand that sometimes conditions may cause delay for some applicants. In these cases, we suggest that you notify us of your intent to submit a Homestay Placement Packet. Although this will not guarantee you a placement, it does give us notice of your interest, helps in our planning, and increases your prospects.
To successfully complete your Homestay Program Application Packet, please follow the steps outlined below.
Step 1: Read Instructions.
Step 2: Complete and submit our online Student Application.
Step 3: Fax the first and last pages of your Student Placement Agreement. NOTE: Last page MUST be signed.
Step 4: Payment Options and Fees. Select the appropriate fees then make your payment directly through our website at the bottom of the page.
Step 5: Complete and submit the Placement Fee Verification Form
NOTE: Once Steps 1-5 are completed, the student will be placed on the active placement list.
Step 6: Complete and submit the Airport Shuttle Verification Form if you have requested shuttle service. NOTE: This should be submitted at least one week prior to your arrival.
Step 7: Complete and submit the Bicycle Rental Verification Form if you paid your bicycle rental fee prior to arrival. NOTE: This should be submitted at least one week prior to your arrival and confirms your rental.
Step 8: Complete and submit the Flight Change/Shuttle Cancellation Form in a timely manner only as needed.
Step 9: Complete and submit the Continuation Fee Verification Forms.
